The WE 809 Practic is another excellent 'budget' quality knife made by WE, it is made from quality materials (increased further by the addition of titanium hardware and WE's excellent ceramic bearing pivot), with excellent features and a snappy, smooth action. While this knife is on the smaller end of knives it still allows my XXL sized hands a full 4 finger grip. The deep hollow grind (making it very thin behind the edge) makes this knife one of the best slicers I have used in a long while. I usually think that G10 makes a knife feel a little 'cheap' and plasticy, but with WE's it doesn't and I suspect that this is because of the ano'ed hardware adding a heap of class to the overall impression of the knife. This knife delivers outstanding value for money and I highly recommend it.

I bought this knife because of the plain black G-10 handle and subtle blue features.

It hasn't got any obnoxious logo's on the blade, just a very very tiny m390 that you have to look for to find it.

The blade deploys solidly + smoothly with a satisfying click to let you know it's at full attention and has a drop shut action.

Edge was razor sharp out of the box.

The jimping on the back of the knife blade is more solid than refined.

Fit's my M/L glove sized hands perfectly and the clip is reversible and being as thin as it is, doesn't create a hot spot.

Overall a solid, subtle EDC with good looks, if that's important to you.
It was for me, that's why I bought it.

Slam dunk for WE and for ME.

I purchased two of these - both with black handles. The Practic is very similar to my Steel Will Cut Jack but the finish is much, much better. The handle especially is better. I had to settle for the Cut Jack in a bright Cyan blue - I really wanted black - which is not exactly thrilling me.

But standing on it's own the WE Practic knife with an M390 blade and under $200 is a bargain.

Anyone who has handled a recently made knife from WE Knives will know how good the action is. (they did have a few dogs in their earlier models). It's a fairly small knife so it's easy to carry, the pocket clip works well on all my pants from jeans to dress pants and it was shaving sharp out of the box. Plus it looks classy.

I can't fault the knife.
