THIS ONE OF THE BEST BUTTON LOCKS ON THE MARKET WITH THREE WAY OPENING - BUTTON, FLIPPER AND THUMB STUD.

EDC TAC - MIKKEL WILLUMSEN DESIGN

The standout feature on the EDC TAC in relation to the rest of the Kansept lineup is that it is the first knife in their catalog with a button lock. This button lock works just like you’d expect it to: once the knife is open (either via a squareish flipper tab or thumb stud), depressing the button disengages the blade for closure.

The tactical, technical-looking handle is comprised both carbon fiber and titanium. Each scale is divided into two parts; which part is titanium and which part is carbon fiber depends on which of three versions you get. The premium elements continue with the 3D-sculpted titanium pocket clip.

10 out of 10

I received the Kansept EDC TAC today, she's a beauty, got a thing 4 button locks , have a couple flippers button locks, 1 is a Rod Olson custom, I've always had a thing for them.

The Kansept is extremely well made, smooth as butter, detent the best ive felt , on a flipper button lock. Sharp & oiled blade,

I give it a score of 10 out of 10

Fantastic Button Lock

One thing Kansept can do is execute the production of a knife perfectly at a great price point and the EDC TAC is a great example of that.

Fit and finish is great, blade is sharp (come on other knife companies a sharp blade should be easy to get right) action is sweet and it fits my hand perfectly.

These are just beautiful well made knives. I got a low serial number too which was nice.

Since these are limited to 150 anyone on the fence should get one now - you'll be sorry to miss this knife.

PS - I was going to get the Damascus model as they look great but this model is a bit more practical for me.

Beautiful and Frustrating

Fit and finish: amazingly good for the money.
Action: a small flipper, easy to use and comfortable thumb studs, and excellent button lock action.
Blade: a very well ground, nicely shaped blade.
Pocket clip: nicely shaped, good tension, and okay position.
Ergonomics: below average. I am not sure that the EDC TAC will fit anyone’s hand comfortably.
Gimping: in a silly spot. The EDC TAC would benefit from gimping almost everywhere other than where it is (on the bottom of the handle).
Final thoughts: Mikkel Willumsen’s design language is all over the place. His knives always look good, but the ergonomics vary wildly. The Chibs is okay, the Hellx is excellent, and the EDC TAC is not quite okay. The EDC TAC is a beautifully made knife, for which Kansept deserve praise, but I have no idea who Mikkel Willumsen is designing his ergonomics for.
