MAXACE HALICTUS 3.0

The name Halictus is Latin for a large variety of Bees - and this big knife could give quite a sting.

This new model of the HALICTUS is nothing like the previous models - except in name.

Several factors combine to make this knife special, including the large 3.9 inch M390 steel blade, a sculpted titanium handle, and incredibly smooth action. The Halictus comes in two models - one with Chad Nichols Zircuti inlays and one with Zirconium inlays.

The 3.9 inch M390 blade is flat ground and opens from a standard flipper.

The Halictus includes a sculptured titanium pocket clip with ceramic ball for great retention, blue back spacer and comes in a padded nylon case for storage.

SPECIFICATIONS

Overall Length: 220mm
Blade Length: 100mm
Handle Length: 120mm
Handle: TC4+inlay
Blade: M390/Nicholas Damascus
Black Thickness:4.0mm

Cool Knife

I got the Zirconium models of the both Halictus and the Balance. Both are super knives from Maxace.
Which one is better? That’s a good question.

The Balance is more of an EDC friendly knife than the Halictus. It’s also $130 cheaper than the Halictus. However the Halictus has inlays both sides and is more of a collector piece. It’s a gorgeous piece of art. Fit and finish is superb.

While the action is great on both knives, I wish Maxace had used multi row bearings on the Halictus to give it that little extra boost. But that’s a small nitpick on a fantastic knife.

Thanks TJ.
Maxace could have used multi row bearings but I assume they thought it wasn't necessary. Multi row bearings definitely make a difference especially if you have a soft flip. But the action on the Halictus is extremely good as it is.
Thanks for your review
